WHAT WILL YOU GET TO DO..
Your list of responsibilities will include the following, but not limited to:

  • Demonstrate excellent management and leadership skills as well as strong interpersonal and communications skills to hire, train, cross-train, lead, mentor, engage and motivate staff.
  • Learn and understand Regional Recycling operations, RIOS/CSP+, stewardships, and Regional Recycling programs.
  • Ensure the products are processed quickly and efficiently and shipped as required.
  • Responsible for managing the fleet/delivery trucks ensuring uninterrupted pickups from commercial and residential customers.
  • Responsibly handle cash and cash deliveries as required.
  • Secure the Regional facility and assets (money, equipment, etc.).
  • Hold regular Safety Committee meetings and ensure safety of our staff, customers, and facility are top priority.
  • Monitor staff for correct Operating Procedures and compliance with WorkSafeBC and Commercial Vehicle Safety regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of customer and client service and strong ties in the community.
  • Learn and manage proper administrative workflows and processes.
  • Actively participate in manager meetings as required.
  • Participate in operational and strategic planning and implementation processes.
  • Participate in projects as assigned.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FO.
To be successful in this role, our ideal employees typically have:

  • 2+ years' experience in a similar industry in a supervisory or management role.
  • Post-Secondary courses in business, warehouse management, logistics or related disciplines are an asset. A combination of work experience and education will be considered.
  • Good business sense and applied business development skills including critical and strategic thinking, problem solving, decision making, customer service, cash management.
  • Experience with High-Speed Counting & Sorting Equipment or related equipment is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude including preventative maintenance on basic warehouse equipment is an asset.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Basic computer, administrative, accounting, record keeping and file management skills.
  • Has or obtains within 6 months of hire, Forklift Operators Certificate.
  • Additional certifications including St. John's Industrial First Aid, WHMIS, TDG (Transfer of Dangerous Goods), are preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours/days including weekends as required.
  • A vehicle, valid driver license and a clear driving record are preferred.
  • Physically fit with the ability to stand for long periods of time and safely lift up to 40 lbs.

$55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
