The Plant Manager will run our flagship facility in Shelburne, Ontario.

The Plant Manager will lead the manufacturing of products within the Plant providing superior customer satisfaction while operating as the lowest-cost producer.

With 100+ employee's the role is accountable for providing a safe and healthy work environment; adhering to customer requirements for quantity and quality at the lowest cost and within Good Manufacturing practices; quality programs; safety programs; and human resources standards and practices with full profit and loss responsibility.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leads management team to achieve the performance targets of the Plant and is directly accountable for all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), production cost targets, labor utilization, yield, and results.
  • Ensures maximization of the Plant asset utilization including line loading, inventory management, planning optimization and production run.
  • Analyzes deviation from targets and ensures root causes are properly identified and solved, involving all key stakeholders upstream and downstream in the process.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure consistent measurement and reporting on KPIs, ensuring progress toward targets is visible and well understood by all plant personnel.
  • Ensure customer service targets are met through the synchronization of manufacturing processes/activities with all functional area teams and processes, from demand planning to delivery to the customer.
  • Liaises with internal and external suppliers and customers to ensure the Plant's compliance with expected service levels.
  • Coaches and mentors leadership team in bestinclass management practices and people strategies. Drives employee engagement through positive employee relations programs and practices
  • Prepare and execute the Plant overhead budget and direct product cost targets.
  • Prepare and monitors capital expenditure plan and recommend and implement capital improvement plan and budget.
  • Accountable for all aspects of Quality Assurance, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Maintain and build knowledge of all external regulating bodies that impact plant performance such as CFIA/FDA, all Statutory Laws( Local, Provincial, Federal,) including but not limited to Health and Safety and Environmental, Employment Standards, and Human Rights laws, ensuring integration of required process and standards to meet performance targets.
  • Set, monitor and meet all regulatory audit targets.
  • Manage the performance of hourly and salaried employees at all levels, ensuring effective training and development programs, communication of clear performance expectations, measurement and recognition of performance. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


  • 8+ years of management experience in a highspeed manufacturing/production environment
  • Experience in the Food and Beverage Industry or related industry alternately experience in the Plastics industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:


  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively plan organize and direct the work of others, and build highperforming teams.
  • Decisive in nature with a bias for action and execution, with a proven track record of successfully participating in and leading projects that deliver significant cost savings.
  • Alignment with company values and mission, with intense commitment and depth of knowledge in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
  • Highly analytical and able to effectively use office automation tools to analyze and present data and make sound decisions.
