Job purpose

Are you passionate about helping the world's most vulnerable children? We're looking for a social media professional with a growth mindset.

In this role, you'll help shape how Canadians view World Vision Canada and use your communications expertise to inspire more people to join us on our mission to do more for more children.

Duties and responsibilities

Social Media Support (approximately 75%)

  • Manage youth social media channels and Brand Twitter account.
  • Research audience preferences and monitor social media channels for industry trends.
  • Stay uptodate with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness such as rules, regulations, new features, algorithms changes, etc.
  • Work closely with our Youth Engagement and Social team to support content curation and creative development for other social channels (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok).
Reporting and Administration (approximately 25%)

  • Ensure appropriate analytics are tracked and reported on for all social campaigns and posts on a consistent basis (monthly).
  • Responsible for administrative duties related to reporting and youth database management.

Qualifications:


  • Degree in Communications, Journalism or relevant fields or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sprout.
  • Administrative experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational, data management, interpersonal, communication and relationshipbuilding skills.
  • Knowledge of international development, Canadian nonprofit and fundraising sector a plus.
Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to detail, ensuring errorfree copy.
  • Strong time management, goal setting and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge and experience managing, curating, and creating content for social media, especially for youth audiences.
