Emergency preparedness is a critical aspect of CCH operations. It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.


Summary of responsibilities:


Reporting to the Director of Financial Services, the incumbent participates in the reporting and development of financial indicators for measuring performance in relation to strategic goals set by senior administration; is responsible for communicating effectively with managers so they are able to understand the managers' information needs and interpret the data/indicators provided; performs quality assurance audits and ensures data quality; participates in reporting and analysis of financial data to support decision-making by managers, directors and senior administration; participates and provides data and support to managers in the annual budgeting process; supports managers on a monthly basis to review variances, collects and inputs financial and statistical information as required by Ontario Hospital Reporting Standards, PSAB and other legislative policies; supports the day to day operation of payroll and accounts payable department.


Requirements of the job:


  • College diploma with concentration in finance or accounting
  • CPA designation (or under completion)
  • Strong data analysis skills using a variety of reporting tools and MS Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with staff, physicians, and management, ability to succeed in a team environment
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal) and ability to prepare and present presentations
  • Excellent computer skills, data mining and reporting
  • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong team orientation
  • Ability to work unsupervised and excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
  • Demonstrated regular punctual attendance
  • Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)

  • Working towards accounting designation
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Previous notforprofit environment experience
