The Scotia Digital Planning Team is a high-performing, flexible team that operates at the intersection of the business, technology, product, design, and delivery accountable for the planning of prospective Scotia Digital projects.

We work closely with business and technology partners across the bank, as well as Scotia Digital senior management, business operations teams, product teams, engineering teams, and delivery professionals to advance Scotia Digital's and the Bank's strategy.


An individual contributor reporting to the Director, Planning Operations, the Manager, Capacity Management is a key member of the team responsible for managing the day-to-day transition of planning work to delivery teams and the capacity management process.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Understand the landscape of capacity consumed and available for planning and delivery across the organization
  • Lead and ensure the transition of approved projects to appropriate delivery teams with all required resources (artefacts, resource plans etc)
  • Ensure resource plans created by planning teams and hiring managers on approved projects are actively pursued and completed on time to support published project schedules
  • Ensures that entrance and exit criteria from planning to delivery are met within defined SLAs and prioritization guidelines, generating all required outputs with necessary reviews and approvals
  • Govern and control capacity management efforts as aligned to Digital and/or business line priorities
  • Ensures transparency on the overall status transition to delivery and capacity management through production of highquality reporting and communications that distill complex concepts into easytounderstand formats for consumption by a wide variety of stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Building stakeholder alignment across related teams on: KPIs, Dashboards and pipeline data completeness and quality
  • Observes processes and proposes improvements to continually progress transition to delivery and capacity management efficiency and effectiveness
  • Use both an employeecentric and datadriven approach to evaluating areas of improvement and eliminate issues before they drag on the portfolio and participating teams
  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team and organization to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Protecting the life/work balance of all team members, participants, and stakeholders and making transition to delivery and capacity management a great experience for all involved.
  • Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with Planning Execution team, Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Planning Managers, Planning Coordinators, and other project and portfolio stakeholders to optimize capacity management efficiency and effectiveness

This hybrid role offers the opportunity both to work remotely and head to the Hub to collaborate in person, co-creating a cohesive and inclusive culture with your Vancouver team.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

years of Project Management and planning experience, with experience in large enterprises, preferably in the banking industry

  • Significant experience leading a team through the planning of projects that have multiple stakeholders and matrix team dependencies
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
  • Graduate degree in business or related field is an asset
  • Scrum Master certification or PMP certification is an asset
  • Understanding of Agile project management principles and practices and experience planning projects in an Agile environment
