Southbridge Care homes is looking for a General Manager for a Retirement Home in the GTA. As a member of the leadership team, the General Manager will:

  • Coordinate, implement and supervise the day to day operations of the Retirement Home
  • Exercise delegated authority for Resident care and planning
  • Provide leadership to the team and professional development learning to ensure understanding of and shared commitment to quality care
  • Create and monitor the overall budget, ensuring the home is in a healthy financial standing
  • Coordinate education, infection control, quality improvement, best practice and risk management processes
  • Participate in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating accurate resident assessments and care planning in collaboration with team members
  • Work to respond promptly to resident concerns, ensuring follow up to resident and family standards
  • Establish positive relationships with residents and families, addressing all concerns and complaints
  • Lead Resident care conferences
  • Responsible for the recruitment, selection and hiring of nursing staff and ensuring training in accordance to the Retirement Home Regulatory Authority regulations.
  • Responsible for managing labor relation concerns ensuring proper resolution to any concerns and performance management
  • Leads the CQI processes
  • Accountable for developing and implementing marketing strategies geared towards increasing occupancy levels
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships
  • 13 years of marketing and sales experience
  • 13 years in a senior living environment
  • Previous management experience considered an asset
  • Current good standing with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario considered an asset
  • Effective leadership, organizational and relationship building skills
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve complex resident and staff situations within a multidisciplinary team is essential
  • Knowledge of computerized software and Resident Care Management systems is an asset
