Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Requirements include:
- Minimum Grade 12 supplemented by degree or certification related to advanced bookkeeping, office administration (preferably taken as part of a certificate or diploma program) plus sounds related experience. Experience working in the meeting & event industry. An equivalent combination of training experience is acceptable to the employer and may be considered
- Proficiency with advanced book keeping and experience working with event booking management and client relationship management systems. The position responsibilities focuses on advanced accounting/book keeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, multiple tax schemes, invoicing, setting up G/L schemes and creating complex financial reports
- Ability to make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy and maintain and balance accounts and ledgers
- Proficiency with JD Edwards and Kronos is considered an asset
- Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and modern office practices and procedures
- Superior clerical aptitude and ability to operate a variety of common office equipment
- Working knowledge of the Ungerboeck event booking system is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Windows and Outlook (minimum typing speed of 55 wpm). Proficiency in Excel
- Working knowledge of the operations and activities of a conference centre, convention hotel or other event venue
- Exceptional professional demeanor, superior communication skills and customer service skills and the ability to deal with a variety of internal and external clients
- Ability to work independently, under general supervision and in a team environment
- Must be able to successfully pass and maintain a criminal and police record check
