Position Description:

***The Ophthalmic Assistant will perform duties as outlined in the Eye Clinic. The position includes assisting several ophthalmologists as well as independent testing of clients for various tests.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Course
  • Demonstrated experience and competence with the following equipment: Humphrey's Automated Perimeter, Fluorescein Angiography, Potential Acuity Meter testing, Fundus Photography, Optical Coherence Tomography, Goldmann Visual Field Perimeter, Noncon Pachymetry
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in minor procedures related to the Eye Clinic, instilling drops, removing patches
  • Demonstrated knowledge in assisting physicians with vision, pressures, ocular mobility, history taking and lensometry, colour vision
  • Demonstrated computer experience
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new equipment

Monday to Friday, days
