ABOUT US

PERMIT COORDINATOR


We are looking to hire a full-time, contract Permit Coordinator position from January to September based out of our head office in Burlington, Ontario.

There may be an opportunity to convert to a permanent position or extend the contract.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Permit Coordinator will be responsible for helping to arrange permits and bookings for all summer day camp locations in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Permit Manager with all permits and bookings for locations across Canada including:
  • Ensuring all camp locations have sufficient permits for operating
  • Ensuring all permits and bookings are paid on time
  • Work with a team of Coordinators who may assist in the booking and permits process
  • Ensure onsite Supervisors are provided with appropriate site maps, location details, permits and contacts necessary to operate camp locations
  • Develop contingency plans for all camp sites
  • Assess suitability of existing locations and research potential new camp locations
  • Participate in and assist in training sessions for staff
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with permit and booking stakeholders
  • Support all onsite camp staff with any permit/booking issues
  • Implement and promote all company policies, procedures, culture, vision, values, and goals
  • Assist with other departments where necessary (customer service, marketing, general office administration)

  • Strong and effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management, decisionmaking and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with staff
  • Relationship building skills, including team building, conflict resolution, and negotiation
  • Efficient computer skills
  • Works well in a fastpaced environment and under pressure
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (Between 7am and 8pm in the summer season)

WHY JOIN US:


We are a small office in Burlington with a team of approximately 10-12 office staff comprised of full time and seasonal staff.

We have an evolving workload that means no two days are the same During our pre-season from January through May, the focus will be on marketing and advertising our camp program, securing facility permits, recruiting summer camp staff, and providing customer service support for camp inquiries.

During the summer months of June to August, the focus is on supporting onsite camp staff, answering customer inquiries, and recruiting for last-minute onsite staff replacements.

Work will be conducted at the Burlington head office.
