Position Description
We currently have an exciting role for a Lead Hand/Operator who will assist in overseeing the day to day activities of employees and processes of our MRF operations as outlined by the Operations Manager.
They should lead by example and be a project minded individual to aid in the operational efficiencies of our organization.
Position Responsibilities
- Operate loaders and skid steers proficiently.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Oversee a team of assigned workers and operators.
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Provide your team with the necessary support and resources to effectively do their jobs.
- Track and report daily production goals and inventory cycle counts to the Operations Manager.
- Perform startup procedures of production and mobile equipment and continuously monitor for efficient operation and mínimal downtime.
- Communicate between workers and management up to and including worker feedback, scheduling time off and employee grievances or complaints.
- Provide quality control.
- Resolve worker issues.
- Various other duties as required
Qualifications
- 23 years experience as a Mobile Equipment Operator (loaders, skid steers).
- 23 years experience in a supervisory role.
- Flexibility and willingness to work simultaneously on a wide range of tasks and projects.
- Experience working in a MRF or in the Waste industry.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proven ability to work independently while being a team player.
