About the role:


DMCL LLP Chartered Professional Accountants is searching for a seasoned tax professional with an entrepreneurial mindset who wants to be an integral part of our growing tax practice and firm.

Our clients are diverse and work in a wide variety of industries including technology, real estate and construction, manufacturing and distribution, entertainment, restaurants and resources.


As a Tax Manager, you will be a key member of our Tax Group actively contributing to the success of the firm.

Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a wide range of interesting tax projects, including corporate reorganizations, succession and estate planning, estates and trusts, business acquisitions and dispositions, inbound, outbound and cross border tax planning and complex tax compliance.


In particular, we are seeking Canadian tax professionals who have over three years of Canadian tax experience at a CPA firm, ideally focused in the areas of compliance and Canadian tax planning for owner-managed businesses and their owners.


How you'll make a difference:


  • Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for clients;
  • Advise on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies and compliance issues;
  • Identify, research and develop solutions for a wide variety of tax issues;
  • Review and advise on complex corporate, personal and trust tax returns;
  • Review the work of other team members, train, develop and mentor members of the tax group;
  • Manage a book of clients by being a key client contact/resource and manage all engagement related matters;
  • Begin developing advanced tax and industry knowledge and sharing that knowledge with clients and colleagues;
  • Assist in the research for, implementation, planning and filings for transactions undertaken by our clients; including business dispositions/acquisitions, tax reorganizations, estate planning etc;

Who you are:


  • You are a meticulously trained professional, having successfully completed the rigorous In-Depth Tax Program. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over three years of handson experience in Canadian tax matters within a reputable CPA accounting firm, you bring a wealth of expertise to the table.
  • Your proficiency spans across various tax domains, particularly within the realm of private enterprise clientele. Your adeptness in navigating corporate reorganizations, business/asset dispositions, estate planning, and compensation strategies reflects your comprehensive understanding of intricate tax frameworks.
  • Notably, your strength lies in your ability to tailor tax strategies to suit individual circumstances, demonstrating a keen aptitude for strategic tax planning, particularly in ownermanaged businesses. Your commitment to client satisfaction is evident through your exceptional interpersonal skills, ensuring a seamless client experience coupled with practical advice.
  • Moreover, your capacity to foster positive relationships within teams, coupled with emerging leadership skills, underscores your potential to drive collaborative efforts towards achieving organizational objectives. Your superior organizational prowess and analytical acumen further enhance your ability to deliver optimal solutions in complex tax scenarios.
  • Above all, your exceptional written and verbal communication skills serve as pillars in effectively conveying intricate tax concepts, solidifying your position as a proficient tax professional ready to make significant contributions to any organization.
