Description
Join Triovest, one of the largest privately-owned Canadian commercial real estate companies, as a Manager, Corporate Accounting at our downtown Toronto office.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include reviewing monthly financial results, assisting in the budgeting and forecasting process, conducting accounting research, and providing oversight of the accounts receivable and collections process.
You will be responsible for preparing monthly and annual working papers, posting journal entries and accruals, and analyzing variance between actual and budgeted revenue and expenses.
Additionally, you will generate monthly rent roll billing, participate in government financial and taxation reporting, and review coding of accounts payable invoices.
As the Manager, Corporate Accounting, you will play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring the accuracy of our financial data.
You will have the opportunity to directly manage and coach a junior staff member, providing mentorship and leadership to support their professional growth.
Ideally, you are a Chartered Professional Accountant or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive corporate accounting experience or experience in a national accounting firm, preferably within the real estate industry.
You should demonstrate a commitment to creating a culture of client and customer service and engagement, fostering collaboration with senior management, peers, clients, and external parties.
To excel in this position, you should have a solid understanding of Canadian GAAP and Accounting for Private Enterprises (ASPE), with experience in IFRS being beneficial.
As a strong communicator, you will effectively address internal and external teams with empathy, credibility, and trust. Your excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding level of integrity will allow you to build trust and respect.
Your ability to prioritize tasks in a demanding, fast-paced environment, along with your strong problem-solving abilities, will be crucial for meeting deadlines and overcoming unforeseen obstacles.
