This position will be responsible for acting as an intermediary for the transit of goods between the subsidiary and its suppliers, and for accurately and efficiently receiving incoming shipments and processing them according to established procedures.

Prepares outgoing shipments for customers and returns shipments to vendors ensuring the accurate completion of appropriate paperwork. Provides resolution to shipping and receiving discrepancies in coordination with appropriate personnel.


This position also involves assisting the operation manager with updating the SOP, implementing new databases, and assisting with production assemblies whenever the need arises.


Responsibilities:


  • Obtain freight quotes and select carriers based on price and delivery needs
  • Maintain and update documentation as required
  • Maintain and update shipment tracking and tracing sheets
  • Communicate freight delays
  • Pack and crate items for shipment
  • Ensure previous day shipments are sent for invoicing
  • Books trucks and create paperwork for daily shipments
  • Ability to work cohesively in a teamoriented environment
  • Utilizing the software systems used by the company to be able to communicate effectively with incoming inquiries
  • Adhering to all regulatory guidelines when shipping within worldwide
  • Keep a record of incoming inquiries to be able to reference later
  • Develop a good understanding about the products we supply to be able to answer any questions from customers, both internally and externally
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience managing inbound and outbound logistics, including international origins and destinations
  • Minimum 1+ years' experience importing and export
  • Experience with inventory management
  • The ability, knowledge and understanding to follow and adhere to all regulatory guidelines when shipping
  • Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience negotiating and managing contacts with carriers
  • Strong math skills
  • Excellent decisionmaking and followup skills
  • Understanding of the customs clearance process for Canada
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to lift 20 kg / 45 lb packages
