We are currently seeking a
Chief Technology Officer to join our team at the Oakville Head Office.


The Chief Technology Officer will be required to create innovative and practical designs that account for the end-to-end technical solution of a system, in line with business strategies and objectives and within the context of the technology environment.

In this role, you will be required to take the lead in driving change and new initiatives in regard to the IT landscape.

You will oversee the assigned programs and provide guidance to team members.

You will be required to stay in control of the development and maintenance of solutions as well as follow up on the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure.

You will be a key resource and go-to person; it will be your duty to ensure networks are running, security measures are in place to protect internal data and information, and more.

You will also be responsible for driving the innovation behind the company's technology focused projects by developing strategies, building teams, as well as managing and delivering end-to-end production of technology solutions.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage the research, planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of IT solutions and enhancements to meet the needs of the organization
  • Present business optimization opportunities by updating existing solutions or implementing new business solutions/implementing AI initiatives
  • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems
  • Procure all computer and technology related hardware and software
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate IT systems, policies, procedures, and practices
  • Develop expertise to train the team on new software and technologies
  • Collaborate with key users and internal stakeholders to identify business requirements and define the solution architecture
  • Work with IT service partners and vendors to ensure prompt delivery of hardware, software, SaaS tools, manage timelines, renewal life cycles, and warranty services, without disrupting business continuity
  • Develop a monitoring strategy to automate the continuous monitoring of network, systems, and services to ensure processes are operating as designed
  • Prepare technical and financial documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ie architecture diagrams, SOW, presentations etc.
  • Produce status reports and raise concerns/risks before they become issues
  • Act as a problem solver and address technical issues by delegating or taking hands on action
  • Preserve assets and control structures
  • Use meaningful metrics to monitor environment performance
  • Identify/implement process improvements to enhance revenue, customer experience, and reduce costs
  • Ensure you are well versed with industry software trends and be able to find the most appropriate industry patterns and standards for each solution

Requirements:


  • 10+ years' related work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Thorough understanding of cloud solutions like Microsoft Azure, AWS etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands on experience of coding using Java, Python, Java Script/HTML/CSS is considered an asset
  • Understand ERP, CRM, as well as other business platforms
  • Selflearner, with sense of initiative, and perseverance to deliver high quality work
  • Team player, eager to learn, creative thinker
