This position is a part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).

Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with the Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) agreement.

This position has an appointment date of January 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024.


Location - North Campus Edmonton. This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.

Position
EAS 250 - Biogeography


This course explores the factors controlling global distribution of plants and animals will be covered from ecological and historical perspectives.

Techniques for the analysis of biogeographic patterns, including paleoecology, remote sensing, and phylogenetics. Ecosystem responses to global change, including species migration, disturbance ecology, and invasions.


Duties

  • Course preparation and delivery.
  • Supervision of a teaching assistant.
  • Advising students.
  • Grading.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in geoscience or bioscience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful teaching experience.
