The Opportunity:


Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of
Front End Manager for our food division in
Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position reports to the Store Manager.

The Front End Manager adds value to our Co-operative by providing leadership to the Front End department, including Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks, and related functions.


Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Deliver leadership and assistance to front-line staff with a particular focus on our cashiers;
  • Schedule staff in accordance with collective bargaining agreement;
  • Lead and coach employees to deliver legendary customer experiences;
  • Ensure the proper selection, training, and development of store employees;
  • Provide leadership to the entire food store in the Store Manager's absence; and
  • Maximize employee and customer engagement through effective people practices.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • A minimum two years of retail experience, ideally at a management level;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A strong service focus;
  • Ability to drive employee engagement to create a positive work culture; and
