P & C/admin Assistant (People & Culture) - Thunder Bay, Canada - Maintair Aviation

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- P & C Manager and Owners.
- Report to Managers and Owner/Operator's on an as needed (daily) basis.
- Complete and support the P & C Manager with daily paperwork, filing etc.
- Ensure suppliers are providing best practice pricing and support to Maintair, in general with pricing and supplying uniform pieces.
- Track and input reports from Ground Handling Operations for the Finance Manager
- Oversee WSIB requirements, reporting and employee engagement and participate in RTW meetings.
- Ensure the Employee Policy Manual is kept up to date and in line with Canada Labour Code requirements.
- Respond to requests from Service Canada and Ontario for employee claims.
- Maintain and keep up to date all HR files in BambooHR for team members.
- Ensure proper disciplinary action and reporting, document tracing in BambooHR.
- Control Uniform requirements for the company, both Above the Wing and Below the Wing.
- Support all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Serve as point of contact with benefit vendors and administrators.
- Perform orientations if needed and update records of new staff.
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
- Keep uptodate with the latest HR trends and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned by the Owners and the P & C Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum College Diploma and/or University Degree with equivalent experience in HR and Business Management
- Minimum 2 years previous experience.
- Must have a Valid Driver's License and be willing to use personal vehicle if needed.
- Must have proficient Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Windows experience.
- Knowledge of BambooHR is an asset.
- Excellent keyboarding skills are essential.
- Must have excellent customer service skills, and operational skills.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision, and/or in a team environment, with occasional travel to our other bases if needed.
- Must be able to respond to the airport with short notice (30 minutes).
- Must be able to work from home as required.
- Must present in business casual attire.
