CAD/Microvellum Technician.

Job Overview


Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the CAD/Microvellum Technician will work as part of a small team with other technicians and engineers, with each member being assigned a separate area of a project.

The CAD technician will work with architects and design engineers to understand the requirements of their initial designs and turn them into accurate and detailed technical drawings.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Converting Architectural designs to shop drawings
  • Preparing libraries and standards in Microvellum
  • Making changes to drawings during production
  • Staying up to date with new Auto-CAD and other relevant software and trends
  • Ability to breakdown complicated millwork items into buildable pieces
  • Create efficient CNC Nesting codes to optimize production and minimize waste
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Competencies:


  • Experience with Microvellum and other industry drafting software, Cabinet
Vision and/or CAD.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Architectural Millwork Drawings
  • Experience in the woodworking industry
  • Attention to detail. Ability to meticulously review and accurately interpret design
specifications and drawings, ensuring precision and minimizing errors and rework

  • Critical thinking skills. Ability to evaluate design concepts, anticipate potential
design flaws and provide alternative solutions

  • Teamwork. Collaborate with colleagues, actively participate in team discussions,
and contribute to a positive work environment

  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficient in office 365 suite
