RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintains a Master Rotation review schedule ensuring review timelines are met.
  • Capture rotation requirements create rotation plans and build rotations using standard build templates.
The Rotation Consultant must do this work manually, optimally utilizing available financial and human resources.

The Rotation Consultant must take into consideration the budget, coverage requirements, existing positions, and collective agreement rules and must adhere to organizational rotation build guidelines.

This requires advanced business knowledge and analytical/problem solving skills.

  • Use advanced Excel and mathematical capability to develop plans that meet Collective Agreement rules and be able to offer different alternatives and explain the advantages and disadvantages.
  • Ensure rotations are sustainable.
  • Analyze rotations to ensure collective agreement and best practices are followed.
  • Understands business requirements of unit for analysis.
  • Prioritize and manage several consultations concurrently.
  • Develop solutions based upon unique, and often complex, unit requirements. In order to achieve this, Rotation Consultants must have an indepth knowledge of collective agreement possibilities and limitations, as well as a strong understanding of health care service delivery models.
  • Adhere to all policies and standards and must look for ways to adhere to common standards while still meeting the operational needs.
  • Provide consultation to various stakeholders in the rotation build process (VPs, Directors, Unit Managers, Human Resources, Finance, etc.)
  • As required will facilitate workshops to gather requirements; makes presentations that describe the fundamental components and requirements necessary to build an optimal and sustainable rotation. Provides insights to managers in optimization of resource utilization in relation to rotations (e.g., skill mix, service delivery model).
  • Collaborate with HRIS and Employee Scheduling Supervisor regarding the review and implementation of delivered rotations.
  • Works with Managers to monitor and improve rotation quality.
  • Assist with the maintenance of Standard Scheduling Operating Procedures/Business Processes documents.
  • Collaborate with Employee Scheduling Supervisor with the training of new hires on Standard work, Collective Agreement Scheduling language and ESD Scheduling software.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • University Degree or Community College Diploma with a focus on Human Resources
  • Minimum 2 (two) years' related experience using scheduling systems in a unionized environment
  • Experience building and optimizing schedules & master rotations
  • Experience in project & change management
  • Successful completion of WorkForce Edge _Certified Master Rotation Designer_
  • Level 1 course or equivalent experience / training
  • Experience working with unionized groups and multiple management levels
  • Advanced, demonstrated analytical and problemsolving ability
  • Ability to articulate difficult, complex concepts to parties with limited knowledge of those concepts
  • Excellent leadership & communication skills

PREFERRED:


  • Experience in adult education
