Who We Are


Thrive Charter School is a zero additional cost to families, STEM focused, K-6 public charter school designed to support families' needs and dreams.

Our mission is to eliminate opportunity gaps that exist for low socioeconomic status families by providing free transportation, breakfast, lunch and extra-curricular programs that run into the evening at zero cost to families.


Position Description
This multiple position opportunity is for casual coverage in a generalist instruction capacity to children ranging from ages 5-12.

As a generalist, you may be required to cover instruction for visual arts, STEM based activities, music/performing arts, or athletics and wellness.

Applicants that are offered employment following the interview process will be put into a small pool and called upon when the situation arises.

Range for compensation is between $20.87-$27.18 per hour depending on experience. Potential time and days are as follows.

  • Monday to Friday from 3:00PM6:30PM _(except major holidays)_
  • The first Wednesday of each month from 2:00PM6:30PM.
  • Four (4) predetermined days throughout the year that are full day from 8:00AM6:30PM
  • November 14, February 29, March 1, April 26

Qualifications

  • Desire and patience required to work with children from ages 512 is a must
  • Flexibility and openness to a consistently changing environment is a must
  • Previous experience teaching any of the outlined topics to children is considered an asset
  • Ability to manage a variety of ages and ability levels within a grouping of children
  • Knowledge and awareness of group behaviour and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, and cultures
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships while establish rapport
  • Ability to relate well within the demographic of students and their families
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for lesson design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups
  • Knowledge of human behaviour and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation
  • An ethic of service to students, colleagues, and community to promote a welcoming, safe, and caring school and instructional environment
  • Passion for sharing your expertise with children
  • Applicants who are offered employment and are new to Thrive Elementary School _must complete and pass_ a _
    _Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check__ or have completed one within the last 6 months._
