Job Summary:


The goal of the Foundry Works and Education Program (FWEP) is to provide flexible, wrap-around services to help at-risk youth develop work skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.

Working with the local and provincial FWEP Team, the Clinical Counsellor provides individual placement support services through assessing and evaluating clients' occupational barriers and works with the interdisciplinary team to determine vocational rehabilitation goals.

The Counsellor builds relationships with clients by providing either one-to-one or group counselling and supports the development of vocational rehabilitation plans and connects clients to available training opportunities.


Your Role:

Archway's Clinical Counsellor/Project Lead with the Foundry Works and Education Program contributes by:

  • Assessing and evaluating clients' occupational barriers and vocational rehabilitation needs on an ongoing basis to determine interests, skills and abilities, encouraging clients' involvement in plan development and setting of appropriate vocation rehabilitation goals.
  • Being responsible for case management of clients as the lead of a team.
  • Providing clinical counselling to FWEP clients to address occupational barriers utilizing a variety of modalities such as DBT, CBT, ACT and trauma counselling.


This position is a great fit for someone who has a proven ability to build supportive and trusting relationships with youth and young adults and who can coordinate with other community services included specialized services as needed while working in a team environment.


Our Offer:


  • Wage: $39.81 per hour
  • A fulltime position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Temporary until February 2025 (possibility of extension).

Getting an Interview-you will be considered if you have:

  • Master's degree in Counselling, plus recent experience providing clinical counselling, with experience in addressing occupational barriers, and working with individuals with significant mental health or substance use challenges or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The Job Requires you to have:

  • Demonstrated ability to adjust to unexpected events, problem solve, set priorities, and deal with conflict.
  • Valid class 5 Drivers' license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Use of a personal vehicle, insured according to Archway policy.
  • Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C (training provided).
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
