About the Position:


Closely working with our VP, Operations & Income Producing Properties, Regional and Property Managers, the HRBP is a knowledgeable HR professional with a broad generalist background, providing front-line expertise, advice and support to clients.

The HRBP will enable the development and implementation of HR practices and programs in support of the company achieving its business goals and growth plans.

Regular travel to Equiton Living Properties is required (approximately 3 or 4 days / week).


Key Functions and Responsibilities:


Act as a point of contact for site management and employees on all HR related matters - champion HR initiatives and facilitate the respect and understanding of HR policies.

Employee and Management Support

  • Provide counsel to employees and management ability to strike the right balance of advocate for employee and business
  • Advise management on handling employee matter
On-Boarding

  • Deliver quarterly onboarding sessions for new hires in support of positive new hire experiences
  • Ensure all aspects of onboarding requirements/new hire data collection via Dayforce is completed in a timely fashion for new hires
Recruitment

  • Ensure recruitment processes/approvals are followed
  • Coordinate with the HR Associate and/or Manager, Talent Acquisition on job postings, interviews, assessments, job offers, references, background checks, recruitment reports, Dayforce entries, etc.
  • Educate management on recruitment best practices and interviewing techniques
Performance Management

  • Oversee and guide performance management activities
  • Educate employees on utilizing performance management tools (Dayforce)
  • Prepare presentations and conduct training on Equiton performance process and best practices
  • Support the preparation and distribution of reports and compensation (bonus and merit) letters
  • Support management in the preparation of performance improvement plans
  • Facilitation of exits and conduct exit interviews when appropriate
Learning & Development

  • Identify employee training needs and source learning vendors
  • Support corporate training program implementation and sustainment practices
  • Track completed L&D programs

Employee Engagement:


  • Manage the employee engagement surveys process for EL, striving for high participation rates
  • Prepares summary reports for EL management
  • Conduct gap analysis and support management in action planning to address areas of concern partner with management to ensure progress is made

Policies & Procedures:


  • Development of policies and procedures specific to Equiton Living employees
  • Ensure Equiton Living employees complete online policy acknowledgement and training
  • Conduct investigations as necessary
Benefits & WSIB

  • Provide guidance regarding benefit inquiries
  • Manage the documentation process for WSIB administration and manage the returntowork and accommodation process coordinate with the Regional and Property Mangers and HR team
Health & Safety

  • Ensures Health & Safety process/policies are followed
  • Work with Health & Safety experts to ensure all regulatory requirements are adhered to and all necessary documentation is completed

  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing business cases, presentations and well thought out, accurate materials
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and make sound decisions based on priorities and risks
  • Highly organized and efficient use of time ability to balance travel time and delive
