  • Job SummaryThe Consumer Taxation Programs Branch (CTPB) is mandated with the development and delivery of effective, efficient and equitable administrative and compliance programs under the Provincial Sales Tax Act, Tobacco Tax Act, Motor Fuel Tax Act, and Carbon Tax Act.
This mandate is carried out by over 150 employees in Victoria and Vancouver, working across six unique sections:
Asset Compliance, Fuel & Carbon Tax, Policy, Rulings, & Services, Refunds, Registration & Closures, and Tobacco Tax.


The eTaxBC Support and Compliance Analyst eTaxBC Support and Compliance Analysts operate in a complex, time sensitive, high volume environment, responding to phone calls, faxes and correspondence and often dealing with hostile, confused and/or upset individuals.

Collaboration within the team is essential in order to continually re-evaluate workload priorities and share expertise.


Job Requirements:


  • Completion of High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clerical/administrative role.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and the internet.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing direct service to citizens, clients, and/or customers in an adversarial environment.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Experience working with the Provincial Sales Tax Act.
  • Experience working in a call centre environment.
  • Experience in a regulatory or taxation environment.
  • Recent (within the last 3 years) experience providing direction and advice to business owners, operators, accountants, lawyers, or the public.
  • Experience working with legal documents.
  • Experience with Gentacs.
