Responsibilities:


  • Assess material demand to determine procurement requirements;
  • Evaluate, develop, and manage relationships with existing and new supplier partners and negotiate with them for the best pricing;
  • Research, select and purchase quality products and materials;
  • Prepare price requests and tenders, evaluate bids and proposed prices and negotiate pricing terms with suppliers in accordance with procurement guidelines;
  • Occasionally visit distributors and other partners in order to develop agreements and check the state of the technologies and equipment used;
  • Ensure that the information contained in the documentation is accurate and up to date (prices, details, terms, etc );
  • Ensure that the amounts correspond to the invoices received are correctly entered in the orders;
  • Update and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels according to the variations in demand and service level;
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations;
  • Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery;
  • Proactively identify opportunity to be more efficient and save cost;
  • Prepare reports and updates as and when required;
  • Perform any other related task relevant to the performance of his work.

qualifications and experience required:


  • DEC in administration, economic or a field of study related to the position;
  • Or a minimum of 2 years in a similar role;
  • Demonstrate a good level of adaptation and be comfortable following the procedures in place;
  • Master the software of the Office suite (Excel, Outlook);
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and courtesy skills;
  • Have the ability to manage multiple files at the same time, quickly and efficiently;
  • Good flexibility good time and stress management, sharp mind;
  • Fluent oral and written French and English;
  • Experience in the lighting business is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX is considered an asset.
