This role is responsible to provide management and leadership to the CSS FO CA organization driving Hitachi's vision of a world class Accounting Center.

Acting as a key support to Hitachi's Group driving a result-oriented organization, demonstrating leadership, and ensuring open and transparent communication among the key stakeholders (e.g. Controllers, Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Management, Group, etc.).

Ensuring continuous process improvement via understanding of key metrics in accounting and reporting processes to offer cost-efficient and competitive services to the business.


Responsibilities:


  • Enforcing Hitachi Group Accounting Standards, compliance with Hitachi's Accounting and Reporting Guidelines and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and Accounting.
  • Lead fiduciary activities for the country, such as coordination with external auditor, quarterly audit confirmation coordination and meeting statutory requirements for CA.
  • Motivate, lead, and engage team members to work together to standardize and optimize the following processes: Fiduciary, Accounts Receivable, General Accounting and Accounts Payable/Travel and Expense.
Act as a liaison with the Global Common Shared Service Hub Team in Bangalore:
Cash Application, Master Data, General Accounting and Accounts Payable/Travel and Expense.

  • Support Budget preparation and internal control in the CSS FO Finance organization.
  • Business Process Owner Involvement for Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay and Record to Report
  • Updates business leaders on key metrics and action plans that impact financials and the daytoday accounting operation.
  • Arranges and leads internal business review meetings and tracks action plans reinforcing guidance on accounting principles.
  • Commits to customer focus and customer satisfaction to ensure business partners are provided the service levels agreed.
  • Drives harmonization and standardization in Canada in line with Group solutions and best practices. Actively work towards the goal of harmonized and standardized processes throughout the Group.
  • Create, track and support accounting KPI's.
  • Drives crossfunctional accounting projects seeking standardization and centralization of accounting activities seeking process efficiency, mitigation of risks and cost control.
  • Support and participate in safety, compliance, business ethics, Group Charter, communications, and other related activities.
Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance and Minimum of 8 years of Accounting experience.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience with management of internal and external auditors.
  • Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting and internal control procedures.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French and English).
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in accounting or Finance.
  • CPA, or similar credential.
  • Must have previous experience of minimum of 5 years managing professional level finance and/or accounting team with a demonstrated focus on employee development.
  • Large, global company experience.
  • Experience within Shared Service environment.
  • SAP experience as end user.
  • Proven experience with cross functional projects.
  • Understanding of L6S methodology.
