Responsibilities:

Ability to organize, manage and delegate shipments within Canada
Communicate with drivers, customers, and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery
Utilize transportation management systems to track shipments and update information
Analyze data to identify potential issues or delays and take appropriate action
Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that arise
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries
Able to set up or improve shipping processes
Shipment confirmations to ensure all deliveries take place within the transit requirements

Experience:

Previous experience in a dispatching role, preferably in the freight or supply chain industry
Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) such as SyteLine or Truckmate
Strong phone etiquette and experience with phone systems
Knowledge of ground, air and rail transportation
Teamoriented, committed, driven, assertive and self directed
Excellent analytical skills to assess situations and make informed decisions
Ability to type accurately and efficiently
Ability to work successfully under pressure and within given deadlines / excellent time management skills
