The Faculty of Health Sciences ((FHS) is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres.

The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).

Education:


  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline; PhD in a relevant health discipline preferred

Experience:


  • Previous experience writing and publishing scientific papers in a healthrelated field
  • Previous experience coordinating grant submissions with tricouncil agencies
  • Previous research experience in a related field
  • 3 years working in a reltaed research environment

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students, and the public
  • Detailoriented with an ability to prepare and produce documents with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
  • Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research
  • Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation, and analysis
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the research team
  • Communication skills to describe technical concepts effectively to both novice and sophisticated users, and to complete detailed analytics and reports
  • Ability to adhere to legislated safety requirements and Western safety policies
  • Ability to multitask and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
  • Ability to work in a fluid and evolving work environment with changing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work
