This position would be based out of our Georgetown, Ontario facility but an In-House, Hybrid or Fully Remote work model exists for this opportunity.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Job

  • Provides domain expertise in contract strategies and execution
  • Provides contractual expertise and strategic guidance to assure the submittal of compliant, winning proposals for the acquisition of new business
  • Provides contractual guidance, business strategy advice, and negotiation/administration support for all phases of the proposal, negotiation and administration of contracts with particular emphasis on maximizing profits and minimizing contract investment and risk
  • Serves as contractual focal point for the business in areas such as regulatory changes, liaison with other functional areas, negotiation strategies, and customer communications and issues
  • Interacts with senior management and customers on major program reviews, significant negotiations and other special projects
  • Actively interfaces with senior level Customer contracts representatives to foster strong customer relationships and address contractual issues
  • Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations
  • Directs the contract activities of major programs
  • Position reports to a r Division Manager or Director of Contracts

Minimally Required Skills

  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of contracting including federal procurement laws and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS, etc.) as well as commercial terms for international contracts
  • Possesses extensive verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with personnel at all levels internally and externally
  • Is adept and experienced in integrating the Contracts organization into the business efforts to ensure achievement of business objectives
  • Demonstrates extensive selfmotivation and able to exercise prudent business judgment in matters of significant business importance
  • Is able to think and plan strategically and be proactive with the Contracts needs of the business
  • Demonstrates extensive decisionmaking ability, negotiation skills and proven leadership competencies
  • Collaborates and works well crossfunctionally throughout the business
  • Is expected to make final decisions in conjunction with the Executive Team on business, operational or programmatic matters and leads effective achievement of objectives

Minimum job requirements (including degrees, licenses and/or certifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 10 years of experience.
