Valleyhaven is nestled in Chilliwack, an area renowned for its beautiful country setting and vibrant urban core. The three-story residence provides a safe supportive home, and 24-hour nursing care, for seniors who can no longer live independently, whether due to physical or cognitive issues.
We are looking for an energetic, passionate full-time Recreation Aide to join our team.

You are energetic, upbeat, and personable; a team player that works fluidly with residents, families, and colleagues every step of the way.
You can work independently as well as take direction, be flexible, and be able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
You are passionate about resident care and will go that extra mile to put a smile on our residents faces.
What You Will Do
- Set up, facilitate, and clear recreation programs, including, but not limited to: Bingo, Storytime, Bean Bag Toss, Chair Yoga and more. Working either independently, or as a team.
- Generate and express enthusiasm and commitment for the Home's social and recreational programs, ensuring that all steps are taken to maintain and encourage optimum Resident participation.
- Provide input and feedback in the development, implementation and evaluation of the therapeutic and recreational activities.
- Conduct satisfaction surveys after each program and record feedback for continuous improvement.
- Update the residence's holiday or theme décor, dining room wall calendars and activity postings.
Your Qualifications - The Must Have's
- Therapeutic Recreation Assistant diploma or Activity Assistant Certification is required
- Patience, kindness, compassion, and the ability to work collectively with your colleagues
- Outgoing and sociable personality
- Ability to organize your workload and accomplish the day's objectives
- Flexibility in your schedule to accommodate special events or outings
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- FOODSAFE Level 1 and/or Serving it Right
- Able to pass a Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector
- Proof of COVID19 vaccinations
