    Description:

    This course will present a history of the development of the urban form of the city and region of Toronto from the late eighteenth century until the present. Students will explore the characteristic relationships that have grown up over the years between the distinctive topography of the city; the early patterns of its settlement, and the evolution over time of its successive infrastructures, including railways, port facilities, expressways, transit lines and underground walkway systems.

    L0101 - Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm

    Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024

    Estimate of the course enrolment: Approximately 16 students per section

    Salary: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10, inclusive of vacation pay)

    Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

    Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree in Architecture, History, and/or English

    Preferred Qualifications: Proven record in publishing, writing, and/or research on Urban Design and/or Urbanism.

    Description of Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations, and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions, and student contact hours.
