The Louis Riel School Division is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to join a professional and collaborative Staff
Services Department team. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Staff Services, the HR Coordinator plays a key role in the
development and delivery of HR programs and services that support the Louis Riel School Division Multi-Year Strategic Plan. In
conjunction with the Coordinator (whomever the position reports to) this position identifies and implements HR initiatives that
support the goals of the Division, and manages select HR programs, with a key focus on reporting and compliance, staffing,
employee performance and evaluation, return to work case management, and employee wellness. The HR Coordinator must be


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

As the HR Coordinator, you will be

  • Assisting with managing the Human Resources Information System (Navision) and the Attendance Management
System (AMS).

  • Performing HRIS data analysis and providing data and reports in support of Staff Services, Senior Leadership, and the
Multi-Year Strategic Plan.

  • Assisting with testing and implementing Staff Services system upgrades/new systems.
  • Liaising with divisional leadership and the Information Systems Department to coordinate access requests that fall
- outside the standard process.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, approvals, and renewals of divisional substitutes.
  • Overseeing the tracking, reporting, and liaising with Manitoba Education & Early Childhood Learning (MEECL) i.e.
  • Manitoba Teaching Certificate Certification. other avenues.
  • Liaising with the Payroll Department to ensure the accurate and continued flow of information.
  • Providing divisional staff with interpretations and clarifications of divisional policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Providing divisional leaders with advice, guidance and support related to HR functions. Coordinating requests for work
- practicums within the Division.
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge of current trends and best practices related to recruitment, accommodations,
- employment equity, disability management, etc.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):

Required:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field, and minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in
Human Resources, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Designation or currently pursuing the CPHR Designation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, including written formal reports, preparing business cases, and

- making presentations.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure, multitask and

- prioritize.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, including providing direction and/or supervision.
Desired:


  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Experience in a large urban school division.
  • Experience working in the public sector including a demonstrated commitment to the development and support of a
- learning community that includes shared decision-making.
  • Experience using an HRIS to input, track, export, manipulate and report data required.
