About the Opportunity:


Under the direction of the Manager of the Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) Department, the Team Leader oversees the daily delivery of instrumentation and supplies to the Operating Rooms (OR's).

They collaborate regularly with the OR Supervisor/Charge Nurse to ensure efficient and timely delivery of instrumentation and supplies so patient care is not impacted.

The Team Leader coordinates with and communicates operational issues to the MDR supervisor and provides direction and support to the Medical Device Reprocessing Technicians working in the OR and in OR processing.

In addition, this individual is responsible for reviewing and advising on all manufacturer's instructions (MIFU's) for OR instrumentation.

The Team Leader is accountable for maintaining the instrument inventory system and participating in the ordering and repair process for OR instrumentation.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Technician course is required
  • Current MDRT certification is required, or must be completed within first three (3) months of starting in the position
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in MDRD with extensive knowledge in the following OR service; Urology, General, Orthopaedic, ENT, Plastics, Gyne
  • Current scope certification through MDR Endoscopy Supervisor
  • Previous MDR charge experience
  • Knowledge of ordering/tracking and arranging repairs of OR instruments
  • Experience with SPD Manager
  • Experience working with computer systems; experience with ASM, PHS, Surgi Server and SAP computer program preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize requests, department needs and effectively and efficiently complete tasks in a stressful and demanding environment
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours:


  • Permanent, full time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $26.08 Hourly

$26.99 with 25 years' experience.
