Primary Purpose:

The Workforce Coordinator provides high quality and efficient Human Resources support and contributes to an effective, collaborative, service-oriented work environment to assist the university in achieving its teaching and research goals.

Nature of Work: Reporting to the Manager, Workforce Administration, the Workforce Coordinator is an experienced, partner-focused professional who contributes to service-oriented HR administrative services and the continued enhancement of shared services at USask. This position maintains professional working relationships with a diverse group of partners. The coordinator plays a key role in a dynamic, partner-facing environment at USask. This position demands efficient task management, accurate data entry, the ability to work independently in a complex setting with tight deadlines, and skillful workflow planning to meet varying demands, peak periods, and unexpected challenges.


Typical Duties or Accountabilities

  • Provide guidance to faculty and staff regarding their eligibility for benefits and efficiently execute benefits administration processes, including enrollment, beneficiary updates, and other related tasks for both new and existing employees.
  • Serve as the primary contact for addressing employee inquiries and concerns regarding benefits and collective agreements.
  • Work with external benefit provider to troubleshoot and escalate benefit claim issues on behalf of the employee.
  • Coordinate and support employee lifecycle processes including but not limited to: review and post positions, generate offer letters, prepare, distribute and collect appointment paperwork; facilitate activities for employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Support in the development and maintenance of benefit and recruitment resources for staff and faculty.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy when reporting financial information for reports, remittances, and client inquiries.
  • Review and reconcile benefits invoices received from third party insurance providers.
  • Ensure the necessary benefits communications are provided for leaves of absence, and collect, submit and/or distribute required benefit contributions for employees on unpaid leaves.
  • Process benefit claims for circumstances resulting in employment separations (e.g. job abandonment, retirement, life claims etc.)
  • Actively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders (Functional Central Offices/Centres of Excellence, Strategic Business Advisors, Administrative Networks, Colleges/Units, and other ConnectionPoint teams) to ensure seamless, efficient resolution and/or routing of outstanding enquiries and associated HR administrative processing.
  • Contribute to partner experience and process improvements by providing technology and process feedback to the Manager and internal stakeholders to improve ConnectionPoint administrative services, operations, and knowledge base.
  • Reduce risk by remaining current with and adhering to university policies, guidelines and processes, collective agreements and relevant legislation that may have an impact on benefit or talent administration processes.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Education:

A post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.


Experience: 2-3 years of related human resource administration experience within a customer orientated workplace


Skills:


  • Strong understanding and knowledge regarding HR administrative processes and best practices, with experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Demonstrated customerservice experience and orientation, innovative problemsolving skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; effective relationshipbuilding capabilities, including the ability to provide timely and courteous service under stressful conditions with a tactful and firm approach.
  • Demonstrated experience working in case management systems will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated accuracy in data entry and the ability to maintain attention to detail.
  • Proven problemsolving abilities; confidence to make decisions and the ability to communicate them as appropriate; ability to multitask and demonstrate effective organizational skills in a highvolume environment.

The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $52, ,328.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
