We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our Buy-Low Foods People team in Langley, BC.


Reporting to the Human Resources Manager at Buy-Low Foods, you will participate as a member of a strategically driven team that inspires and motivates exceptional and collaborative performance and culture.

In this role you will work closely with management and team members to drive and support the implementation of the company's strategic HR and compensation programs, initiatives, policies, and procedures.

This role will support and participate in the achievement of business objectives with consideration to the company's greatest asset, it's people.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading, implementing, and maintaining all HR initiatives aligned to the overall business goals and strategies.
  • Identifying and addressing all employee relations issues as well as maintaining the reporting and investigation processes.
  • Driving initiatives to promote employee engagement and creating and maintaining a productive and positive work culture.
  • Advising leadership in areas of team member and leadership development, performance management, succession planning, attendance management, culture, complain resolution, harassment investigations, and disciplinary action.
  • Participating in job evaluations where necessary and sharing analyses with management.
  • Acting as a point of contact for all employees.
  • Assisting in research, development, implementation and reviewal of HR related projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with company HR policies and employment law requirements.
  • Communicating key People messages, programs, and initiatives to management team members.
  • Supporting the successful implementation of people initiatives, policies, procedures, and information systems (e.g., performance management, succession planning, and leadership assessment/development).

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR capacity, preferably in a large and complex organization, complemented with functional experience in compensation practices, job evaluation systems, performance/talent management and succession planning. A postsecondary education or diploma in Human Resources or related education considered a strong asset. Previous experience dealing with employee relations issues. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- _Working towards a Certified Professional of Human Resources (CPHR) is considered an asset._
