ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF TREATMENT SERVICES

SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Treatment Services will report to and work collaboratively with the Director of Treatment Services, with overall supervision and accountability to the Chief Executive Officer.

The Assistant Director works closely with the Director of Treatment Services to develop, evaluate, and enhance addiction treatment programs, while also collaborating with other departments and external partners to ensure comprehensive care for clients for all three healing lodges.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures accreditation and licensing is maintained at all centers;
  • Travel to each site on a regular basis;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Treatment Services to develop, implement, and evaluate addiction treatment programs in line with best practices and regulatory standards;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Treatment Services to enhance and develop the continuum of care components of the healing lodges;
  • Collaborate with the Director of Treatment Services on expanding Indigenousled approaches that address genderbased violence through healing, health and wellness programs, expanding programs that foster women's economic security and investing in prevention initiatives;
  • Monitor program effectiveness through monthly, quarterly, and annual data collection and make recommendations for improvements based on client outcomes and feedback
  • Monitoring and collecting the evaluation and maintenance of proper documentation for reports including researching, compiling and analyzing relevant data and statistics to support program initiatives;
  • Ensuring all healing lodges are meeting timeline requirements to remain operational
  • Stay uptodate on current research and developments in addiction treatment modalities, incorporating new evidencebased practices into program offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and ethical standards in the delivery of addiction treatment services
  • To perform other related duties as required.

ACCOUNTABILITY
The position is accountable to the Director of Treatment Services and supervised by the Chief Executive Officer


COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:


  • A Masters degree in social work, psychology, or other related areas of study.
  • Specific training in data collection and analysis (or other related area of study) at the postsecondary level

Experience:


  • At least five years of fulltime experience in residential care settings and or the field of addictions and mental health.
  • Experience in working with First Nations leadership, Elders, and working with community health and wellness development initiatives
  • A working knowledge of federal and provincial government programs, services and typical reporting demands.
  • Experience with project management and program development
  • Police records check and Vulnerable Sector Screen

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer skills, conceptual and leadership skills, ability to work with groups in strategic planning and problem solving;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with individuals, coworkers, First Nation leadership and representatives of other organizations
  • Excellent critical thinking, research, data analysis, and pattern recognition skills
  • Excellent time management and adaptability skills;
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate sound ethics and judgment;
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries;
  • Initiative and ability to complete tasks with minimum guidance and supervision, and ability to manage competing demands in a team setting;
  • Fluency in a NAN dialect (Cree, Ojibway or Oji-Cree) preferred

$75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year

  • Driving Licence (required)

Willingness to travel:
