SUMMARY:

In this position, you will report to the Weekend Shift Supervisor.

As the Machine Shop Technician working in the Surface Finishing department, you will be responsible for performing various honing duties in support of production requirements.

Work Site Location:
Oakville, Ontario-Canada (Onsite)

Work Shift:
Weekend day shift (Friday to Sunday 6am to 6pm)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform hand hone, polish, vhone and horizontal honework from drawings and general instructions
Document actions in support of quality logs and communicates all discrepancies in machining to supervision
Work from setup sheets, manufacturing sheets & drawings
Work in a safe team oriented environment and participate as an active member of the implementation & execution of 'LEAN' principles
Perform other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent plus recognized and accredited college /trade program or two (2) years internal Machining experience OR three or more years (3+) prior outside Machining experience
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, utilize micrometers, verniers, reaming tools,etc., in support of quality requirements
Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime
Must be willing to work the weekend day shift (Friday to Sunday 6am to 6pm)
