Who we need
We are looking for an Associate, Mergers & Acquisitions to join our team.

As a key member of our M&A team, you will drive the acquisition process for vertical market software investments from start to finish.

What you will focus on:


  • Qualifying businesses. You will collaborate with our corporate development team to identify vertical market software businesses that meet our strategic criteria and specific metrics. You will analyze target companies' financial and operational information, form investment strategies, and build detailed valuation models.
  • Creating engagement. You will make investment pitches to senior investment and operating teams. You will work with owners, shareholders, advisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Transaction execution. You will assist with the preparation and negotiation of offers, participating in the transaction execution process from starttofinish, including: performing commercial and financial due diligence, managing external advisors, facilitating management meetings, coordinating internal approval processes, drafting investment memorandums, due diligence reports, and financial models.

What you bring:


  • The knowledge. You have a background in accounting, corporate finance and development, investment banking or private equity. You may be coming from management consulting or an accounting firm. You have a strong business acumen and understanding of valuation. financial analysis and modelling concepts, transaction advisory, and due diligence. You can review and understand financial statements, can understand financial procedures and have a general understanding of GAAP concepts.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have excellent written, and verbal communication skills, including the confidence to lead telephone or video calls, and make presentations to Clevel executives. You have the ability to build rapport and gain trust remotely. You can work in a collaborative manner with internal teams and the senior management team of acquisition targets.
  • The drive. You have a focus on successfully meeting your deliverables. You have advanced strategic thinking, analytical, time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills. You are adaptable to changes in work priorities. You have a growth mindset and you are open to learning and sharing new ideas and approaches.
  • The flexibility. You are willing and able to travel internationally on occasion to work directly with potential acquisitions.
