General Description


The HR Manager will be responsible to manage all day to day operations of the human resource practices and processes.

HR Manager focuses on delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success; as well as ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and operating procedures.

This position will be directly reporting to management.


Responsibilities:


  • Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Developing and monitoring overall business strategies, systems tactics and procedures across the organization
  • Ensuring legal compliance throughout human resource management
  • Reviewing and processing semimonthly and biweekly payroll
  • Responding to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests
  • Responding to employee inquiries regarding pay, benefits, vacation and other employment related issues
  • Organizing and managing new employee orientation and onboarding programs
  • Maintaining documentation of employee absences, bonuses and personal time
  • Administering the employee Group Benefit Plan including new hire setup, employee record maintenance and status changes
  • Managing and overseeing full recruitment cycle using state of the art and innovative recruiting and hiring process including advertising, screening, interviewing for open positions and reference checks
  • Managing 90 days and annual performance management processes, track and process completion
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of health and safety program, including practices and procedures to meet the Organizational Health and Safety Act
  • Participating on the Joint Health and Safety, promoting a safe and healthful workplace and being a proactive voice to the health and safety priorities of the organization
  • Managing all WSIB claims, investigations, and return to work plans and reporting to minimize the duration and resulting cost impact.
  • Conducting orientations for new employees, explaining policies and procedures, and company benefits, and coordinating new hire training
  • Creating and updating current policies as and when required
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Work experience requirements:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in HR with 23 years of supervisory/managerial experience required
  • Postsecondary education in human resources or related field
  • Human Resources Designation CHRP preferred
  • Experience with working on Learning Management System is preferred
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and French is an asset
