We are looking for a
_Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting_
The
Manager, Corporate Financial Reporting will be a key member of the global financial reporting team.

What you will do

  • Assist in the consolidation and analysis of financial reporting for Lifeco, Canada Life and Canada Life Insurance Company of Canada formal financials statements; Management/Board reports; regulatory reports; annual reports and entity financial statements.
  • Provide support to the regional accounting teams for general ledger structure.
  • Prepare and review of other nonfinancial statement reporting to the Audit Committee including Audit and Non-Audit Fee report.
  • Assist in the research and accounting over complex accounting transactions.
  • Assist in research and development of accounting and regulatory policies, procedures and internal controls over financial reporting to support the Global program.
  • Lead special/ad hoc projects, as required.
  • Lead and mentor other team members.

What you will bring

  • Completion of a University degree and a professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA).
  • 35 years leadership experience in a financial reporting environment.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with teams across multiple disciplines/locations.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, MD&A and other external disclosures.
  • Experience developing or coordinating annual financial plans.
  • Strong technical working knowledge of IFRS.
  • Working knowledge of public company/reporting issuer requirements and related regulatory environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint) including advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and macros.
  • SAP, Workiva and/or BPC experience would be considered an asset.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Proven analytical, problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Early success in this position will require the ability to work in a fastpaced environment, excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership of issues in a clear and concise manner.
