$ $26.26 per hour

This position is open to CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing March 4, 2021 and closing at 11:59 pm on March 11, 2021.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Junior Clerk Typist performs a wide variety of clerical duties including: registering and booking patients for diagnostic testing; profiling diagnostic requisitions, filing, documenting and maintaining a variety of statistical information for the unit; answering the telephone and accurate message taking and distribution; preparing tests results for specialists reporting; inputting into the computer and mailing reports; and performing other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical Office Administration Diploma with previous relevant experience in a Hospital or doctor's office setting or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel computer programs and medical terminology (tested);
  • Proven organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of Meditech Admissions Module, Radiology Module, Community Wide Scheduling and Medical Records System;
  • Good keyboarding skills 30 wpm (tested);
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work productively despite multiple distractions and interruptions;
  • Physically capable of reaching, pulling, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, frequently throughout the shift to accomplish tasks;
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record;

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular inservice education sessions; and

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:


The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.


Successful applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
