The District Municipality of Muskoka is currently recruiting for Nursing Staff at The Pines Long Term Care Home in Bracebridge.

The Pines has been serving seniors with care and dignity in our community since September 1961.

Our cozy and comfortable home encompasses five resident home areas (one secure) and has four wonderful courtyards with plenty of outdoor space to roam about.

At this time, we have the following opportunities available:

Resident Care Aide (RCA)


The RCA provides assistance to nursing staff in a variety of tasks such as: assisting with resident transfers, transferring residents, answering call bells, delivering messages, maintaining cleanliness and organization in resident rooms, maintaining supplies, assisting with resident nutrition, and providing one-on-one support to residents.


As an RCA you will:

  • Provide oneonone visits and support to residents
  • Assist residents with nutrition and feeding
  • Make beds and tidy resident rooms
  • Clean and disinfect common areas and items
  • Porter residents within the home
  • Follow all applicable legislative and regulatory standards

What you will need:

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Previous experience and interest in working with a population of older adults
  • Commitment to provide proof of enrolment in an accredited PSW program within 6 months of hire
  • Proof of successful completion of the above noted program within 2 years of hire
  • High school students are welcome and encouraged to apply

Personal Support Worker (PSW)


The PSW, under the direction of registered staff, provides quality personal and bedside care to residents in accordance with individual resident care plans and the policies/procedures within the home.


As a PSW you will:

  • Deliver nursing care that promotes resident / family choice and acknowledges the residents strengths and limitations as well as their need for safety and the safety of other resident / family and staff
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including eating, toileting, dressing, personal care and bathing
  • Make beds, clean commode chairs, wheelchairs, and other nursing equipment
  • Follow all applicable legislative and regulatory standards

What you will need:

  • PSW certificate
  • Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in long term care, is an asset
