Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances. Identify any defects in heavy equipment, communicate any unsafe conditions, incidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor to facilitate proper correction and reporting.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections every day and record it accordingly. This requires climbing onto the machine and checking levels and minor maintenance such as cleaning or lubrication.
  • Operate the scraper controls to regulate the height of the blade and bowl to shape and contour the earth to rough to finish grade using grade stakes.
  • Operate the scraper in a safe manner avoiding any utilities, employees, or any other miscellaneous items on item
  • Operate single or double engine scraper being pushed, taggingup, or selfloading
  • Attend all morning meetings and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation
  • Reliably show up for work following the schedule on time.

Job Requirements:


Job Specific Competencies:

  • Prior experience operating scrapers of various sizes
  • A sound understanding of health and safety codes
  • Have a reliable ride to and from work

Personal Abilities:

  • Positive outlook and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and collaboration in a respectful, productive manner

Compensation rate & payroll:

  • Compensation for this position includes the rate of
    $2838
  • Your income will be paid to you on a
    _biweekly_ basis through direct deposits
  • Payment of overtime, for overtime eligible positions, will be paid for all hours worked in excess of 44 hours within one week.

Schedule/Hours of work:

  • Seasonal employment will be defined as all work taking place between the months of April
  • October.
  • The normal work hours are as follows during seasonal peak periods (April 0
  • October 31):

A) 12 days on - followed by 2 days off

B) 11 hours a day (7:00 am - 6:00 pm)

Work is weather and project dependent

  • The Alberta Blue Cross Benefit plan will be effective 2 months after the employment start date.
  • The Alberta Blue Cross Benefit Plan will be terminated on the employees last day of employment (layoff, quit, or fired), or October 31, whichever occurs first.
