The Opportunity:

The Parks Labourer 1 positions are key positions, which allow Parks to provide our seasonal operational service levels. This position is required for landscape maintenance in the Parks section.

First aid course is desirable
Alberta Driver's License
Six months' experience
Ability to perform basic labouring activities
Ability to operate and maintain related small, motorized equipment (e.g. lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc.) and to use a variety of standard labouring tools.
Ability to cooperate with colleagues as a team, and to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to exert frequent physical effort (e.g. planting, digging, pruning, operating mowers, erecting rink boards, playground and other equipment) and to work in fatiguing positions (e.g. bending, kneeling, etc.).
Ability to work outside in most types of weather.
Must be able to work independently and/or with a crew.
Ability to exercise care and to follow all safety policies and procedures, particularly in high publicuse areas.

Remuneration:

$25.40 to $26.89 per hour.

Hours of Work:

80 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Additional Information:

The term of this position is anticipated to be 6 months with a possibility of extension.
