The Wexford recognizes the importance of immunization to protect our residents, and visitors from COVID-19.

As a condition of employment with The Wexford, new hires are to have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.

Position:
Porter

Hours of work 8:00am -11:30 am or 12:15-19:15

Effective Date:
Immediately

Core Function:

The primary function of this position is ensuring that resident meal service is performed in a pleasant and efficient manner, in compliance with department and MOH standards.

As well, after meal service periods assists with ware washing operations and other assigned cleaning responsibilities. Physically challenging position requiring that the successful incumbent stand/walk for long periods of time.

Fifty percent of the shift involves working with a variety of cleaning solutions in a hot, humid environment as well as lifting items up to 50 pounds in weight.

Other duties as assigned by the Food Services Manager

Qualifications:

Food Handlers Certificate (current)
Completed Food Service Worker Certificate or are enrolled in Food Service Worker Program
Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Previous food service experience desirable.
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Good communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to interact with families, residents and other team members is essential.
Current Vulnerable Police Check is required
