Event and Activities Staff - Hamilton, Canada - Columbia International College
Description
The position of the Event and Activities Staff (Summer Camp) is responsible for facilitating programing during the Summer Camp. This position runs fromJuly 4, 2023 to August 12, 2023.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and facilitating events and activities.
- Supporting the lead staff on large scale events and trips.
- Keeping an organized calendar of all scheduled shifts.
- Proactively interacting with participants between activity times; such as, lunch breaks, dinner breaks, and leisure times.
- Taking attendance during trips, events and activities.
- The supervision and safety of participants during Summer Camp Programming.
- Supervising a 4 day/night Eastern Canada trip (Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City)
- Assisting participants with their luggage during airport pickups and drop offs.
- Communicating with your supervisor regarding any needs or concerns.
- Maintaining a professional, positive and helpful attitude.
- Wearing appropriate uniform: provided staff shirt, athletic footwear, active/professional pants or shorts.
- Clocking in at the start of each shift and clocking out at the end of each shift.
- Adhering to CIC Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
Qualifications:
- Relevant work experience with youth in a camp, recreation or educational environments
- Provide a valid and current vulnerable sector check
- Detailed and task oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong communication, prioritization, and time management skills
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to multitask and work under pressure
- Multilingual: fluency in Portuguese, Spanish, or Vietnamese is an asset
Hours of work:
- Ability to work flexible hours as required (Days, Evenings, Weekends)
