We are looking for a Caregiver to provide support to a couple (mostly the wife) in Waterdown from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Must be vaccinated for Covid and be willing to wear a mask during the shift. Must drive and have own vehicle._

  • Works effectively independently as well as in a team
  • Demonstrates flexibility, sound judgment and sensitivity in evaluating and responding to client needs
  • Able to motivate and promote care recipient participation in social, recreational and educational activities
  • A strong commitment to privacy and confidentiality

Requirements:


  • PSW Diploma/Certificate
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check issued within one year
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Driver's Licence
  • 3 work references
This is a part-time position, working approximately 6 hours per week.


Responsibilities:


Supporting the individual in all activities of daily living

  • Assisting with individual self care activities
  • Assisting with activities of the individual supported outside of scheduled hours
  • Cooking, dressing and preparing meals is typically done by the person supported themselves or their support aide. However, if assisted in these tasks, we will be sure that the person supported takes full advantage of the opportunity
  • Bathing and dressing individuals
  • Lighting and keeping cleanliness to a minimum in every individual's residence
  • Light housekeeping duties
  • Maintaining a pleasant and professional manner when interacting with individuals supported outside of their own.

This includes but is not limited to:
eye contact, smiling, vocalization, body language, etc.

  • Other tasks as assigned by Care Team or Management
  • Provide assistance with person, safe transportation, and transportation of needed supplies
  • Assist person with personcentered activities that are consistent with their personal strengths
  • Provide support with daily living skills such as bathing, dressing, eating, transferring, and using equipment
  • Assist in preparation of meals as assigned by the assisted person's dietician or dietician
  • Perform light housekeeping duties that are necessary for daily living safety
  • Complete necessary paperwork and document support activities as assigned by the assisted person's care team
  • Complete required paperwork on a regular basis
  • Meet and/or exceed deadlines for scheduled shifts
  • Obtain positive feedback from clients regarding services provided
  • Maintain professional behavior at all times when dealing with individuals or families or other Caregivers
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by Living Assistance Services (Burlington/Oakville)
  • Be a team player Help other Caregivers when needed, and be encouraged to speak up about issues you have with clients

Requirements:


  • Valid Driver's License (required)
  • Ability to pass a background check (required)

Part-time hours: 6 per week


Salary:
$20.00-$21.00 per hour

  • Weekends as needed
