You have:


  • Postsecondary education in occupational health and safety from a recognized postsecondary institution OR equivalent occupational health and safety experience
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to draft policy
  • Ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees, both unionized and nonunionized at all levels of the business
  • Prior experience in conducting incident/accident investigations an asset
  • Indepth knowledge of occupational health & safety laws, regulations, and best practices in construction, manufacturing, office, and/or other settings
  • Knowledge of ESG initiatives a definite asset
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and interest in professional growth
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Full Gclass driver's license and clean driver's abstract Ability to travel within the Region as needed

As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will:

  • Administer Health & Safety programs in collaboration with the H&S Advisor, People & Culture, Operations, and Site Management
  • Administer and manage WSIB claims including claim submission, coordinating early and safe return to work programs, following up with employees and WSIB to ensure documentation is uptodate and correct
  • Monitor modified work programs and employee recovery with a goal of returning employees to their preinjury jobs
  • Maintain and execute Ramudden Canada's safety programs including but not limited to risk management, incident investigations, & training programs
  • With guidance from the Health & Safety Advisor, assess OHS programs and procedures, make recommendations for improvement and alignment with OHS legislation and Company goals
  • Assist with safety audits/inspections on facilities, worksites, and equipment/material conditions, across all Ramudden Canada divisions
  • Maintain safety records and various H&S documentation with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Organize and deliver training/orientation sessions on Health and Safety and other related topics
  • Ensure that Health and Safety boards are kept up to date with required legislative information and JHSC minutes
  • Encourage and promote a safe work culture with a positive attitude
