Volkswagen Downtown is looking for a New Cars Sales Manager to join their amazing team
Job Purpose


The Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of the Sales Department (New and Pre-Owned) and in measuring the performance of the employees in the department.


Responsibilities

Management-Related

  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
  • Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
  • Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the Sales department.
  • Attend manager's meetings as requested.
  • Assist the General Manager in forecasting controllable expense elements for the Sales department.
  • Understand, keep apprised of, and comply with federal, provincial and local regulations that affect New-Vehicle sales.

Personnel-related

  • Hire, train, motivate, coach, and monitor the performance of all Sales Consultants.
  • Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.
  • Oversee the efforts of Sales Consultants to enhance the image and customer satisfaction ratings of the dealership.
  • Communicate with Sales Consultants to ensure that dealership policies and procedures are understood and followed.
  • Monitor Sales Consultant's payroll records.
  • Set sales and gross objectives on a short
- and long-range basis.

  • Review all Sales Consultants performance as shown on the Daily Sales Operating Control.
  • Assist in developing programs of improvement for those Sales Consultants who are failing to reach their objectives.
  • Recommend for dismissal of any Sales Consultant failing to meet company standards.
  • Conduct daily and weekly sales training meetings as directed by the General Manager.
  • Work with Sales Consultants on programs that will increase the Vehicle Gross and increase Finance & Insurance penetration.

Customer and Department related and Other

  • Recommend to the General Manager the New and Pre-Owned Vehicle inventory to be carried by color, model, and equipment, based on a variety of customer and market analyses.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the use of a prospecting program.
  • Help Sales Consultants close deals when necessary.
  • Maintain standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers.
  • Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous management experience in the automotive industry.
  • Valid Ontario G Driver's License.
  • Clear Driver's Abstract.
  • Valid OMVIC registration.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Proficient with 180, CDK and Reynolds systems; ability to operate PCbased software.
  • Ability to sell the minimum quota according to dealership objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
