Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the XVA Trading globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


What You'll Do:


  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Deals in investments and execution orders on behalf of clients and is responsible for selling investments to wholesale clients. Generates and maximizes trading profit and client revenues. Understands the risk profile of transactions and puts processes in place to manage those risks.
  • Works with derivative sales groups to price all XVAs in a fair and consistent manner. Acts as a liaison for clientfacing groups and XVA trading by communicating new trades and executing associated hedges for XVA trading books.
  • Fosters new and existing client relationships in addition to crossselling existing relationships across other areas and product groups.
  • Assist with creating and improving analytics and tools to enhance the risk management capabilities for the XVA trading desk.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

What You'll Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Engineering, or other relevant fields
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with fixed income, FX, and commodities derivative products
  • Experience working with XVAs is an asset
  • Requires successful completion of National Futures Association's Swaps Proficiency Requirement (SPR), prior to engaging in inscope activity
