Job Description Summary
The Reservations Co-ordinator sets the tone for Sonesta's mission of "Wowing" our guests with Amazing Moments. The Reservations Co-ordinator is responsible for soliciting and managing the reservations sales-related opportunities to maximize the hotel's room revenue.


Work Environment

  • Majority of work takes place indoors in an office environment.
  • This position reports to the Reservation Supervisor

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Frequently handling objects and equipment.
  • Standing/sitting for extended periods of time and moving about the facility.

Expected Hours of Work

  • Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be flexible to work variable shifts during the day
  • Eight to twelve hour shifts sometimes required.

Education and Experience

  • 3+ years Front Office experience or related required.
  • Fouryear degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Prior Reservations Coordinator or Manager experience preferred.

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

  • Answer telephone calls and answer questions regarding hotel facilities and rates.
  • Regulate rate and inventory availability.
  • Follow through on all changes submitted by the Sales Department in a timely manner
  • Perform simple analyses of room night, rate, and revenue statistics.
  • Generate reports on demand.
  • Provide proper departments with rate and inventory information.
  • Verify all group resume information at time of distribution for accuracy in a timely manner
  • Assist Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Revenue Management in compiling reports and information.
  • Assist the Director of Revenue Management in leading efforts to achieve the highest possible RevPAR.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Convention Services to ensure that rooming lists and reservation cards are processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all VIP's are flagged appropriately and communicate any special needs to the Front Desk.
  • Assist in building and updating all rate codes in revenue management systems.
  • Work with Sales Team as needed to ensure effective and efficient management of group inventory daily provide direction when needed on cutoff date extensions and additions to inventory.
  • Attend department meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Regular monitoring of hotel website to ensure accuracy
  • Audit commissions paid out

Qualifications and Skills

  • Professional verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable expertise in analysis and action taking.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Delphi and Opera PMS experience a plus.
  • Prioritization and time management skills.
  • Working quickly without compromising quality.
